I haven't posted in a while.  There's not much to do with the hives in the winter and spring.  I harvested some honey early in the year but there wasn't much - I got about 30 pounds.  That was probably a month or more ago.

I went into one of the new hives last week and was surprised at how much honey they had.  I had picked that hive up in September of last year so I expected they would not have had time to grow their population and collect a lot of nectar.

Our friend, Greg, came on Saturday (6/22) and we took 32 frames of honey from two hives.  When processed, it was 110 pounds of honey.

Greg came back on Sunday and we took more frames of honey, this time from one of the hives we harvested from yesterday and two newer hives.  That gave us another 100+ pounds of honey, for a total harvest of slightly over 200 pounds.

Here's some of the harvest - four buckets full.  We had already bottled some honey from the buckets when I took this picture.

I have a list of email addresses of people who have expressed interest in purchasing honey and I sent out an announcement to the list today.
